Did Macho's have upgraded leaf springs? Also, I'm looking at an add a leaf lift, and was wondering if this will fit my 4 wheel drive truck even though the drivewheel says 2wd in the description? Please, any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Depends on what you are trying to accomplish.
......When I see this in an advertisement:
•Compensates for Slightly Worn Leaf Springs
•For Vehicles That Occasionally Take On Extra Load
....... I am wondering if the add a leaf is a waste of time and money.
I would get new springs.
Two more bolts on each side and your done with it (using heat & a cut off wheel).

some macho's had a beefier spring package on them, but most had the standard 3 leaf leafspring package, IIRC 1650 lb spring. The h/d spring was a 5 leaf unit, and was like 1900 lbs, and gave about 1-1 1/2 inch higher stance in front.

Hey DodgeGuy, Is there a spring shop in your town? Most spring shops can put a main leaf in and rearch the other old old spring packs to your specs/wants. Draw Back: You have to remove spring and bring them into their business...... Other option: Bring the whole truck into them and tell them your wants. Expect a repair bill of over $500 on two rear springs. Then think about the front springs. The truck may have a large dump to the front (from age) with new /rearch spring in rear.
