ok so it runs it moves and drives decentit honestly runs like crap and the gas gauge doesnt work so ill have to throw the timing light on it and time it. and see why the gauge doesnt work. but i drove it about 27 miles on 20 bucks and that sucks any thoughts?

hedders will help...

I know it is kinda "apples to oranges", but I have a 74 w100 with the stock 360 2bbl with headders and duals....I can honestly get 16 out of it doing 55-60 going to work. here is a pic of the truck...

I actually think a good four barrel carb will get better gas mileage if you can resist the temptation to put your foot into it all the time. I love the sound of duel exhaust and the throaty sound of a thermoquad opening up. I can still remember when I used to take my LRE out and open it up. But gas was much cheaper in those days. Now I guess taking the trucks out is more for recreation than daily use and it will get worse as we watch what unfolds in the oil rich Middle East.

Very true Classic Ironman. And Palomino, that's a beautiful truck you have there. Did you restore her?

not to be a pessimist but doesnt a 74 have lock outs up front so it goes into 2wd where as mine does not its fulltime 4wd. and i do want headers and a 4bbl carb just dont wanna put money into the 318 cause i wanna build my 360 thats gonna have a mild cam reworked heads carb intake headers the list goes on. and i do still need to check out my gas gauge wires, but im not real stressed about doing it asap cause ive got an atv to fix cause its my mud toy. me my brother my dad and uncle all go four wheeler riding on saturdays :D very fun. and my brothers getting another mustang so yeah another new toy, gotta love those hot rods. but ill get around to the macho whenever i can and ill be sure to keep you guys updated

wow over a year since ive updated this thing, its still not restored, i got a 79 swb im using for parts. a great bed, fenders and doors. i drove the truck all last year, i had my gf at the time come in from cali last september and she demanded we drive the macho everywhere, so it was run non stop, wed wake up head to my friends house 20 miles away all day, then at 3 am wed head the macho another 25 miles away to the city of evansville to dennys for early breakfast and not one time did she let me down. had a cd player mounted behind the seat and i gave that up and just mounted it in the dash and kept the factory radio, ( 8 track player didnt work anyway) its still not lifted, the 360 is still sitting in my garage apart, the build parts are still on the shelf. ive just been driving it as it is cause number one its gets me lots of attention( girls love this thing, another ex was over at my friends with her bf and she told me nice truck and winked at me i was like oh yeah its on lol) ive used the macho to haul my atv to the trail head and guys there were more interested in my macho than the trucks on 44s, and above all else ive been offered 3 thousand bucks cash for it at a gas station but i turned it down, its still in my yard, my possesion.

on to the parts ive got, the 79 that my brother aquired had a bed that had roll bar holes and virtually no rust, the fenders are better than mine, and it had brand new lil red express seats that ive already swapped in. it has 35s and 4.10 gears but the tires are good for offroading only cause theyre cracked. it also has my headers and eddy carb and intake.

future plans are to swap over the headers and intake carb. repaint the body parts and do the black, order the stripe kit and get that on. have an exhaust done for it, and while the bed is off figure out wat the hell is up with my gas gauge, oh im also replacing all the gauges with the white faced ones cause i like em better. thats the list but not in that order, i really need to build a 30x30 shop for this project and my others cause my grandfather whom i love to death is a total pack rat and i cant stand it anymore lol. a shop is filled tools and manly things like naked girlies on the wall, not with old broken furniture! id love to see pics of your guys shops and such.

ill get pics up soon but idk when but i do know after the 2 years ive owned this thing, I LOVE IT! :D
