Soo.. I looked at a '78 macho today, what did the factory sunroof look like on the trucks? This one was installed nice and neat, not a hack job etc. And still has a headliner in it. I just haven't seen a factory one before. It looks like the latch/bracket was gone, I think was prone to break too? Anyone with some good pics/closeups? This truck was missing the rollbar and wheels. (I guess the rollbar gets in the way when you have a slip-in camper in there..) Looks like a neat color and red interior, bench seat, tilt steering, 360 auto. If I can get my trailer back together, it may be part of the 100 dollar club.. Thanks for the help!

-Jim

Hey thanks Sam,
what are the dimensions on those factory ones? I usually shy away from trucks that have a hole in them. Thanks!

There were no red interior Machos. The 79 & other years were painted flat black inside the cab. I think the brochure for 77 or 78 was pasted on this forum some where which showed a pic of the factory sun roof. Were 77-78 painted flat black inside?

my 77 is the bright red color and the interior, every last part, is painted red. the flat black seemed to have been sprayed as an add on. truck painted completely in red and clear, then striped, taped off, and painted flat black.

What are you waiting for??? Get that truck!! If I understood correctly it was priced at $100?? Looks good to me. Great color combo and a macho to boot!! If you wanted to you can always repair the sunroof mod with some fresh sheetmetal and a welder so not to hard to reverse if you really want the truck.

That '78 made it home in one piece. Ya, this one is truly red interior, dash frame, pad, door panels, couldn't have been changed. The strange thing is that it has a red bench seat?? I always thought they had the buckets. It's got rusty floors, bad fenders, rust in wheelwells. The 360 was rebuilt, and the guy spun a crank bearing. Been sitting since '04. I wish it had the tailgate, that is my favorite part of the macho! So can I finally be part of the macho club??? :D

Great find! Would you consider selling the front push bar?

That's the first for me with red interior, very cool if it's original to the truck.
