O.K.
Been working 12 hour days all weekend so just now got it off the trailer and pushed in the shop today... Since it has been sitting for several years I pulled the spark plugs poured some oil in the cylinders, let it sit for a while and cranked the engine over for a little bit.... But its 106 deg. Outside and I said forget it and came back in drank a Gatorade and am in the process of soaking up some a/c... I'll get back with y'all later on engine cranking results...

BTW.. What else do some of you guys do before cranking an engine thats been sitting???

I know where there's a long bed macho rollbar you just need to send him a short bed macho roll bar in trade plus pay to have the long bed one sent back to you. So if you happend to come across a short bed one cheap grab it.

Update... Good news and bad news.... After letting the oil soak for several hours and turning the engine over without plugs I put some gas in the tank installed the spark plugs and gave it a shot of carb cleaner it fired right up but would not stay running... Only with shots of carb cleaner would it run.... Blew air into the gas tank until it started getting gas to the carb and it fired right up and runs and sounds pretty good... Not showing much oil pressure so I shut it down.. Going tomorrow to buy an external oil pressure gauge " fingers crossed "... Bad news no reverse.. Will go in forward gears but not reverse.. Must be a broke band... Oh well I have two other BB 727's laying here that will make good rebuild material...

I also just purchased a Macho off of e-bay and hope that I don't run into any major issues. It is in GA and fortunatly for me my Uncle and Cousin live about 70 miles away and have a shop. With help from Sam at the Palimino Ranch I think I have pretty much picked up everything that was listed as missing or broken and a few nice to have parts. Sam as many already know and I am discovering knows just about everything there is to know about these trucks and has unlocked a few mysteries for me. I am fortunate or unfortunate depending on how things pan out to have a factory installed Sunroof, I have been searching long into the night for any parts that might work to rebuild this Unit as it was sealed up with RTV and still leaks. I guess I will update as I get more information on this. The rest is still a mystery as I have nothing to go by except a few pictures for the next 40-60 days it will take me to get back to the East Coast. I presently work at NAS Lemoore CA and will be heading to NSU Saratoga Springs NY. I will post pictures and any progress I make on as soon as I can. Any info will be greatly appreciated.

John
