I'm just getting ready to start this build. This will be a Yellow 77/78 clone, I was first planning to do one in either Sublime Green or Black on Black but changed my mind. I had a Yellow 78 Macho back in 85 and I flipped it 3 times down the highway.. I MISS THAT TRUCK!!! The truck was totaled of course but I've been planning on building me another since Machos are hard to find around here and if you do find one it's either destroyed and not worth buying or they want to much for it. This will be a 440 truck and I'm starting with a 89 frame, 78 rust free cab and front clip and a nice shortbed from an 80 model.. The grille is perfect, just needs stripped, polished and resealed.. The front axle is a cad axle but I plan to swap out the housing to an older noncad housing.. I will keep the larger 5on5.5 bolt pattern because I hate the 5on4.5 with the smaller wheel bearings. Heres pics of what I'm starting with, click to enlarge..

Probably why it didn't get beat to death. Almost all the V-8 trucks got used up.

Could be, the body I used to build the green truck was a factory bigblock truck and the bed was rustfree and straight on it, inside and out.. I have one more long bed truck, the one I'm using the cab from for this build is the same way.. I have been lucky on some beds..
