I'll see if I can aquire the truck with the original drive gear. I would just put this rare truck back to stock again. No problem doing just that.

if nothing else, I know that the axles were swapped, but try to keep it as close to original looking as possible, it will help keep it's value IMO...

you could always pick up a 70's body and swap it onto your diesel frame. depending on your time and resources, it may be easier.

I have thought of that idea on swapping a 70's body. I just didn't know about the rare 1981 Power Ram Macho i've been reading here. I like rare cars and I might just find an 81 grill for my 1 ton and clone it into an 81 Macho instead. That way I can use the diesel as my daily driver like I wanted to and keep the original 77 Macho for car shows and a weekend cruise now and then.
I'll keep you guys posted and take plenty of pictures of the 77 build.

About the original 77 axles, I did a search on you tube and found a LWB 1978 Powerwagon green macho that looks restored but missing the roll bar and the video was takin at a truck show inside a building. It has the correct yellow color wheels but they are 8 lug. I will post the link.

If it's this one we've already determined it's a W200 and not a "real" macho. Good looking 400 truck though. 8-)

I agree. I've always been a stickler for "all original" in appearance. With the Macho bumpers, mirrors and roll bar, it would go from really cool to super cool! 8-)

I'm looking into getting a 1979 115WB rust free straight body from Arkansas for my 1 Ton Macho build. I'm going to use the roll bar and bucket seats from the 79 Macho I purchased fron MN.
Man do they rust here in the Midwest :x

Gatewayclassics of St.Louis has some clean and sweet looking vehicles for sale but they usually want a mint for them.
