I am seriously getting the blues about this project. Bought that military truck for the cab but I still have floors to replace in it. Noone wants mopar stuff around here to try and make up my fortunes lost on this venture. And the box on my truck is in SERIOUS disrepair. The box sides they sell for long box pickups... how do they work on the short boxes? The front is rusted, the wheel wells are simply missing, and the rear quarters and box corners are rusted out. Thinking I should have bought a lot nicer truck. So, anyways, I had to rant and whine a little. Send me some encourging words!!! Oh! I had found another Macho on the net for 400 bucks, dirty rat had already sold it.

Sorry to hear of your troubles rockhardplace011 but believe me, most of us here have felt your pain! You are right though. It's better to wait and spend more on a vehicle more complete than get something that is cheap but will cost a fortune in the end. It's a lesson I've had to learn a few times myself!

Thats why I bought the M885, to replace the cab completely. The rust was coming up the walls of the cab, it wasnt through and could probably be repaired but how long would it last, factory sunroof was in total disrepair and siliconed shut. The M885 is in really good condition minus the floorpans and a solid roof, no sunroof to mess with. Plus my W200 is missing the fuel tank in the frame so I can fix that, also I stole the front shaft which was new for my broken W200's shaft. The transmission was shot in the Macho and the M885 has 42k original miles on it so I'm good there too. Lots of stupid little box parts to steal too, box corners, inner wheel well stuff, and the front of the box somehow. Haven't figured how to piece the front parts of the box yet, I need the front of the bedsides and the front panel. About the only parts on it that are good are the bed floor, inner box sides, and the roll bar :(

Why not use the nice M885 to fix up and put the macho parts on it? I think that would be a lot easier than parting out a good truck to fix a rusted truck, or am I missing something? :D

haha yeah your missing something. aside from good cab, drivetrain, and box parts the truck is a total loss. front sheet metal is smashed, front bumper torched off horns and all, they have an engine mounted in the box for a snowblower behind the truck, box floor is cut out to accomodate. a 5/4 ton does me absolutely no good besides a chiropractor bill. and its a long box, i want the short box with the roll bar cuz i just think its flippin cool lol.
