Howdy,
Am curious if anyone knows if the crossmember for the transmission mount is the same for a 2WD NP435 4speed truck as a 4WD NP435 4speed truck with the divorced NP205 transfer case? (I'm assuming the 4speed would work in either application too right?) Planning a project to swap a 4speed for the automatic, and fulltime to parttime case.. Thanks for your help!

oops, I'll be replacing the automatic with a 4speed. So I need the short tailshaft NP435 as found in either a 2wd top loader truck or 4x divorced tcase truck right? (To do the divorced tcase setup on my truck) Thanks for your help!

My thoughts are for a HD truck..
'76 Dodge short box, Dana60F manual hubs and Dana60 Rear, 4.10 or 3.55gears, 440, NP435 4speed, NP205 divorced tcase, with halfton springs, and airbags. Which gears would work nice with that 4speed? I have the 3.21, 727auto and 203case, 33"tires, nice for highway, a little high on gearing for towing tho.. I guess it's 1:1 in 3rd auto or 4th gear stick eh? Was 3.55 even an option on the 60F?

yup, the 435 is the same as the short shaft 727. The only way one got 3.55 gears in a dana 60 front was in a late 80's truck in a special order, or in a 4x4 cummins application with a manual trans...or 518 o/d setup.....otherwise it was 4.10 gears...it was the standard gear with a 3/4 ton...
I think that the best combo for fuel and towing would be to do a cummins with a 5 speed with 3.55 gears and have an exhaust brake....my 80 crew cab is set up like that(brake not installed yet, but have it)...it gets 18 when towing, and 21-22 solo...and is 4x4
