LAST440 found a white 79 Macho in Richmond that was definitely worth looking at. I was going to post the link to it on Craigslist.org but now it's not there. I guess he's sold it.

I will have to look for a link, seems like I saw one for it....is that close to you???? I think that the orange one might still be a better deal though...

I would prefer an orange Macho over white, but the white one is at least road worthy. The one in Tennessee would need to be hauled as he says the transmission is shot and needs rebuilding. Lots of parts missing too. I might call and see if he still has it though. Business is improving giving me a little more cash flow than I had at the time I was looking at it. Richmond would be about fourteen hours round trip, but it's Interstate almost the whole way.

I saw that one too. It was up then down within a few days. I just hope whoever bought it will try to keep it authentic looking.

This '79 Macho in California looks exactly like the one that was on Craigslist in Richmond, rusty rear quarters and all!

The orange Macho in Tenn.looks alot different now than it does in the pic that was posted of it.He sent me pics of what it looks like now and it needs alot of work compared to what it looked like in the craigslist pic.

Yes, he sent them to me also. He seems like a decent honest guy, evidenced by the fact that he sent recent pictures when he didn't really have to. It was important to him that I was sure of what I might be driving up for. Unfortunately, business took a grave downturn right after we talked and it was hard for me to scrounge up the frogs to make the trip.

I agree he is a nice guy. I talked to him about 30 min. and he sent me alot of pics of the truck. He told me a guy from Carolina was pretty interested in it when I called him.I wonder who that was? ;) I instead bought a 77'Macho.But I thought long and hard about buying his truck first.

I'm sure it was me... I bought and installed an extreme duty chassis mounted trailer hitch for my 91 Ram (pictured in my sig) and brake package for a trailer I was going to borrow to retrieve it. I was sure I was going to make the trip until I saw the more recent pictures and my business's cash flow got stale. Who knows... If he still has it when we get out of these hard economic times, I may go get it yet. :)

Let's see some pictures of it. I don't think I've seen pictures of this orange one.
