There are these two power wagon out in front of a business near here. Both are on the rough side but certainly appear salvageable. One is a Yellow 77 short bed, manual with 318. The other is a 79 M880 with 318 and auto. He wants $1000.00 for both! Trouble is, cash flow is slow right now... I might have to try and come up with a creative way to buy them. If both are mechanically sound, this is just too good of a deal to let slip by... :?

Well? How'd you come out on that?

Empty... He sold both the day I called him. The M880 is still sitting there. I might stop by and see if he sold the yellow one separately. If so, I guess he's take $500.00 or less for it but there is no title.

Still...

Sounds like my kind of vehicle! Is it in your gallery? Which one?

I noticed the M880 is still there so I called him again today. He said the guy has the 78 but hasn't come up with the cash! He said he would track it down in a day or two and if he doesn't want it he'd call me. It'd be just my luck to get a chance at this deal again and with a sudden shortage of cash... :(

I have to admit that until now, I've always liked the 79's better than the 77 and 78's. However, the 77-78's are really growing on me big time! Knowing how I am, I probably won't be satisfied until I have one from each year! :o

Just an update, I stopped by yet again and he said he has no idea where the truck or his "friend" are. He said he's known the guy a long time and never would have believed he'd steal the truck.

The M880 is still sitting there. I have this idea that if he would sell it cheaply, I could make a Macho clone out of it. I think it might be pretty cool to make it into a "Rick Simon" Macho complete with the same paint scheme, wheels, front end and cattle catcher! lol...
