I know it's been a while since this was asked but I'll answer it. To the best of my knowledge "Custom" was the base model. Dodge and Ford used the "Custom" designation. My grandpa worked for Vulcan Materials rock quarries in Ga. and his company truck was a Ford F100/F150 Custom /barebones /stripped down /el cheapo model. The same was true of a 79 D100 my dad bought in 84/85. I think the only optional equipment that truck had was the 318 v8 instead of a /6. and it said custom inside and outside.
