Rare Dodge Truck - $1 For sale rare 1987 rod hall edition dodge truck. This truck was a very limited production truck which was modified for dodge by rod hall. A famous Baja race truck builder & driver. These trucks were only built in 1987 and 89, And only fewer than 10 of the 87s are known to exist. This truck featured heavy duty off road suspension, chrome roll bar, off road driving lights, alloy wheels, hood pins, side body accent stripes , front pushbar, cloth seats and door panels and floor carpet. The truck runs good and it's showing 90k on the odo. The four wheel drive seems to work well. It has good tires mounted on non factory wheels. This truck is rusty and is need of full restoration. One of these trucks in similar condition sold for 10k I'm not expecting that much but no stupid offers. I'm not putting a price on it right know just taking taking offers, if I don't get a decent offer I'll just keep it and restore 740-629-1796 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Those were numbered trucks with a dash plate mounted on the dash. Need a shot of that. Also, the early 87 trucks were recalled because the suspension system was not appoved by DOT before the Rod Hall refit. So the trucks had to be returned to Mopar. I have only heard of two trucks not returned. I have seen one in photos. The ride height on a Rod Hall is definitely a four inch lift.............That truck look like it has a four in lift. so would that mean a non returned 87 would not only be rare but illegal? and a four inch lift is only 375 bucks or cheaper if you put rear springs on the front and just a block in the back |

'87 Rod Halls were voluntary turned in return for exchange of for an other Mopar supplied truck. The story I got was a guy had ordered the truck and was there at the dealer before it was unloaded from the transport. All ownership paper work had been done from the dealer to new owner that day. Chrysler has sent out a memo to all the Rod Hall Dealers ordered trucks that the trucks could not be sold due to the DOT certification problem. They were not to sell the RH edition. Since the truck had already changed hands there was nothing Chrysler could do but ask the owner to voluntarily return the truck. This customer did not. This supposably happened to about 10 trucks (see web site above) on new owners of the trucks. I don't think you could call the trucks illegal. ...... If you go to the registry web site there were more things done to the suspension than blocks and springs. Blocks were used along with the 1800lb front & rear springs ( W250 springs on a 1/2 ton). .........Looking at this truck for sale: It needs alot more documentation since all the options are gone except for the roll bar. Again more photos of the under carrage are needed. ..........The owner is not justifing the missing options, just quoting the '87 brochure in his classified ad. What I am getting is the 740 area code is in southern Ohio. I don't know where the West Virgina thing came from. |
