I am doing a complete restoration of a 78 Power Wagon for myself and the truck will sport the Macho Power Wagon Paint and decals.

I have many questions regarding proper paint lines, especially in the engine compartment that I am requesting interior/exterior, and engine compartment photos so I can paint it properly.

Hopefully one you fine folks can help me out, and show off your truck at the same time!

Thanks,

Ray in the Yukon

Hi CstRay and welcome to the forums! I suppose you've already seen our Gallery section. LAST440 and palomino are the resident experts on the 78 Machos so I'm sure they'll be along soon to help. :)

I will look and see what I have of pictures that you request. What color is the truck going to be? is it an original macho, or are you going to be painting one up like a macho?

It is a 78 Power Wagon originally from California, that I picked up in Alaska. It is not (I doubt) a factory Macho Power Wagon. I am however, trying to clone it to the last detail. I need to paint the front of the cab before it goes back on the frame and I don't know how, meaning what colour to use. the truck will be low lustre black and voodoo blue.

The frame is complete and covered in POR-15 A new 408 chrysler from www.blueprint.com installed, cab and box undersides are painted. I parted from technically correct, numbers matching restoration at that point but the original engine was beyond salvage when I got it.

Also noticed in the pics on this site that there was a chrome strip separating the paint colors on the back of the cab. I don't have one. If anyone has a good spare they would like to sell me I could use it.

Did you mean blueprintengines.com? Blueprint.com doesn't look at all like a place to get blueprinted Chrysler engines.

great shots of the engine compartment. Answers all my questions regarding paint under the hood. what is the black stuff around the heater unit? I had hoped to avoid replacing that stuff on this truck by sealing it more discreetly.

Palomina I could use one hundred photos of that truck, inside and out. If you could post all the pics you have of it that would be great. If you just want to send them to me my email is raylaukkanen@hotmail.com.

Did you just buy that truck? It sure looks like the one I saw for sale on ebay this year.
