This is my first post here, and I'd just like to say I'm glad I found a place where there are Simon & Simon freaks....I thought I was all alone. Anyway, I have been looking at a 79 short box for a while, and it needs a few parts so out I went to a salvage yard where I knew there were some parts trucks. Now I have seen this truck before, and I knew it was a macho, however I wasn't too interested in it. After researching on here for the last few days, I'm thinking maybe I should grab it. Anyway, enough blabbering, you want pics. I will try to go back tomorrow and get some close ups. Here are some teasers.

snowman if that little voice deep down inside is telling you to, then go for it! That looks like a diamond in the desert! Great find! Thanks for the pictures! I can't wait to see the ones you are going to take! ![]() |

I will try to get back tomorrow. I've looked at a lot of stuff out there, but never that truck. It's a long bed, so that's one of the reasons it is interesting to me. Unfortunately it is not a four speed, which would be sweet, but since it seems that the long beds are rare it does deserve a closer look. |

If you can buy it right go for it.You may never find another longbed for a long time.I'd guess it's pretty much rust free?If so that would put you way ahead of the curve not having to fix a bunch of rust.Looking forward to seeing more pics of it. ![]() ![]() |

not trrying to pop your bubble, but I would say that is a normal dodge truck that someone might have made to look like a macho. it has a 72-73 grille in it, 79-80 paint style on it, and a 78 bird bath style hood on it, and no identifiable tape stripes on it. I would look for a core support tag on it and see what you come up with... still a nice find though....long beds are going to be tough to find.... |

No bubble to burst here Palamino, that's why I am posting the pics, so I can get some feedback. I am heading back out this afternoon so hopefully I can get some more info. |

Also check out the fuel tank / filler location. I don't think it's a real Macho either. |

[quote="Rick Simon"]Also check out the fuel tank / filler location. I don't think it's a real Macho either.[/quote a person could have gotten the in-cab fuel tank on the 77's and 78's. no factory dual tanks option on the 79 macho's.... |
