Looks good from here. Depending on Rust, floors, cab corners, frame (salt?) I would think between 1000 and 2000 But if it's solid, and close by, clear title, then it's just a matter of how good a deal you make on it. |

Agreed. Somewhere between $1-2000. There is no shortage of them at that price. ![]() http://cosprings.craigslist.org/cto/1210179389.html http://seattle.craigslist.org/skc/cto/1205184471.html http://portland.en.craigslist.org/grg/c ... 52022.html http://boise.craigslist.org/cto/1179522164.html http://modesto.craigslist.org/cto/1207853642.html Cut a deal. ![]() |

That's a good list. I think a Macho is worth about double across the condition scale. Most of what's on the list are sort of "drivers". Maybe. A running, driving, four wheel drive that is not rusty has a value to a lot of people. So there is a support level. Say $1000 in some areas. Maybe more back in the rust belt because it's so hard to find 70s trucks. A lot of times what guys ask for their truck is just based on what they have in it. Doesn't mean it's worth what they have in it. Typically, a Macho should be worth about double a "Standard" truck. There are a lot of Standard trucks out there for $500 to $1000. A lot in Calif that won't pass smog. A Macho should bring double those #s. Keeping in mind we're talking a condition range from- Unrestored, doesn't run, missing some parts, some rust _____ To Better but still needing complete restoration. Actually that list is a great study in prices. For what a lot of guys might call beaters or drivers. There is one that I like best and a couple that I would stay away from. First. The Colo springs truck. To hard to tell what's under the paint. Axles swapped, and other stuff done to it. Least original, hardest to evaluate. $1800 Second. The Seatle truck. I like this one the best. Naturally, I'd want to see a lot more pics before I drove to Wa, but, very original looking. And it's an SE and a Prospector. For a $1000 that looks like a good deal. Third and fourth are the Green Portland truck $2000 and the Idaho tan metallic for $1700. Both look like running driving usable 4Xs. In the areas that they are for sale in that's probably close to what they are worth as such. Although, if gas goes way back up they are no longer cheap rides and they would be worth 1/2 if that. The last one in modesto, is also an intesting maybe original looking truck. It's price reflects three things. No Title, Calif non op back fees? and will it pass smog in Calif. What good is it if you can't drive it? Now if it were a MACHO it would be worth saving. I like the Macho that you've found. The roll bar is a big plus. It would be a bonus if he has the original wheels. And until these trucks really start to go up you should be able to "cut a deal". ![]() |
