This look like a macho? Or a repaint? Never seen this paint scheme.

Without any more evidence...maybe? As with most of these old trucks unless they're completely intact with correct fender tag, build sheets, etc it's hard to say from one photo.

I'm not familiar with that paint job, but there are many truck experts on here that will hopefully chime in. Based on the hood it looks like it could be a '77 or '78 Macho, but the front bumper looks to be chrome, the mirrors are wrong, etc, etc. So it might just be a hodge podge.

Mainly wondering about paint scheme. I know this truck is a 79 with stacked headlights. 440/727. Guess I need to look closer.

Well the hood is incorrect for a '79, so without seeing more of it all that can be said is definitely maybe. Plus, no 440s in '79s (from the factory at least).

Agreed with all of the above.

I would be surprised to see a 79 grill on this one.
But could have been upgraded / repaired early on ?

clues look 78 / earlier

?

I would bet not.

But need more info / pics

Well, it looks unique at least. Trying to get owner down on price, he thinks it is something really special. I have a 93 cummins donor truck that I would like to do a swap with.

He said he wants around $3000 for it. I was thinking about 1k only because it has sort of a cool factor. It is very rusty. Doors and floors are rotted. Drip rail is starting to rust through. Has some moss growing on it.....

It's been sitting there at least 10 years. Paint appears to be pretty old. He claims it is a 79 and he was driving it before parked. Engine and trans have been pulled and stored inside.

What do you think it's worth?

Also he knew the hood was swapped at some point. But he acquired it just as it is.

Also just noticed the chrome drip rail. If I remember right it has the macho style bull bar, but it is chrome also.
