the engine specs are the same on the macho's as with the other trucks, nothing special or fancy about the engines on the macho's..... |

maybe we coule add a section with a list of specs. that would be a great help for a newbee like me. could you tell me the HP ratings for the macho engines. did they come with a 318 340 360 400 or 440? i have no idea what was original. this would help me greatly in my search. Or maybe point me in the right direction or a link to where i might find this info. thanks |

1979, standard engine in a macho was a 318 2bbl (VIN "E" federal emissions), and 318 4bbl (VIN "P" california emissions). Other optional engines were 360 2bbl (VIN "F" federal emissions), or 360 4bbl (VIN "T" California emissions). 1978 standard engine in a macho was a 318 2bbl (VIN "E" federal emissions), and 318 4bbl (VIN "E" california emissions). Other optional engines were 360 2bbl (VIN "F" federal emissions), or 360 4bbl (VIN "F" California emissions). The 400 2bbl (VIN "J") was only available for federal emissions, and the 440 4bbl (VIN "D") was available in both federal and california emissions packages. 1977 standard engine in a macho was a 318 2bbl (VIN "E" federal emissions, california emissions). Other optional engines were 360 2bbl (VIN "F" federal emissions, california emissions). The 400 2bbl (VIN "J") was only available for federal emissions, and the 440 4bbl (VIN "D") was available in both federal and california emissions packages. All of the engines were available with either a 4 speed manual or a loadflite 727 automatic transmission, except for the 440, it was only available with the automatic. |
