i have a 78 macho, silver the real deal, but the beds rotten. if i swap the bed from a 79 and i paint it and stripe it is my truck still a macho or is it worthless? i really want a clean body but the bed is unuseable due the wheel wells

It's better to save the truck even if it means
swapping some sheet metal, even a complete bed.

In the future, trucks with all of their original body parts,
may bring a premium. But, it's more likely that the higher quality
restorations will be worth more. For many trucks that means
using the best parts you can find. it may be important to
photo-document before you start and as you go, to be able to
verify that it's and original Macho. Still a macho with a Better
condition bed.

Now to find a better Bed!!!!

They are getting really scarce.

Already got one from a red 79 even has the roll bar holes, i own both complete trucks :)

the previous owners decided that to clear 35s on the red 79 dodge theyd weld square tubing to the frame and to the frame of the bed :o previous owners down right scare me sometimes
