Here are a couple of pics of my 78. I bought it Nov 07. It's a survivor. It has original paint, stripes, wheels. The paint is a bit faded in a couple of areas, especially the black on the roof. Has a few dents etc.The air cleaner is not original, Any of you guys have a pic of an original air cleaner so I can see what to look for?It has it's original 400 engine and it's an auto trans. The engine and trans have never been out of the truck. Its got 120k miles on it and still runs strong. It has power brakes and power steering, skidplate, thats about it for options except for ,as the build sheet puts it, "Macho Package". Just after I bought it I had the brakes and front suspension rebuilt, and I put on some new tires,(Cooper Discoverer STT's). It had some rusted though areas on the rear fender but I carefully welded in some patch panels to repair the holes, luckily this was all in the black painted area. This summer I also did some upholstery work on it, the original upholstery was trashed so I replaced it with a nice kit from Legendary Interiors for a little red express, the seat upholstery kit fit great and matched the originals perfectly. One big bonus is that when I was cleaning it up soon after I bought it I found a wealth of documents in the glovebox, including the build sheet, original warranty papers, all of the licence plate registrations, and a pile of repair records!! Its by far the most documented older vehicle I have ever bought. My plans for it are to preserve it as is, its survived unspoiled this long, its going to be an unrestored original for a long time now.

That is a great looking survivor.
That truck is why this site exists!
Your truck is a treasure of original info.
We would all love to see more including
scans of the Factory Docs as well.

Nice macho, love the orange short beds. With a little detailing that thing would look real nice.
