Well, this is an open ended discussion and I'm sure everyone
has a different opinion. That's probably what keeps the
World revolving. Buyer's and sellers.

I guess a couple of givens should be tossed out.

1 prices vary regionally
2 there are always anomallies that should not be counted

So...
as an example, what's a rust free, straight, short bed (just the bed)worth??
west coast -- east coast -- in between

First a few things to consider.
Pickups got used, and when they got sold to the next guy,
they got used some more. When the kid down the street
got it, he began beating the $%^& out of and they still
are, more so if it's a 4X.

Rust, beds rust even in the desert.

Hooks extra holes, hauling boulders. All BAD.

So most beds are whooped. If a clean one makes it to a
Pick and Pull they will usually ruin it within a few hours with
their forklift. I have never seen a perfect bed in Pick and Pull.

Soo.. what are they worth. 300$ $500?
Guys in the rust belt are asking and getting a grand. Not just
talking about some insurance buy, but rather hobby guys like us.

If I was to stock pile one hard to find part for future needs or
just to go up in value. It would be Perfect beds. Even though
AM/FM/CBs are a little easier to store. 8-)

So stock radios? Wheels? aftermkt parts? Let's hear it. :geek:

I think tuff wheel cans for the 4x4 are worth getting, and if one needed one they are probably worth 150 easily, and they are hard to find.....
another topic would be the roll bar.....if one can be found in a jy, 50-75 bucks is the going rate, but if one is needed badly, then they can be worth quite a bit!
I luv the contrast on what is rusty, one could say that something with wheel lip rust(bed) is very savable, but us guys out in the southwest think that they are almost junk...
point in question, I bought a truck from southern Illinois a few years back, and it looked nice in pictures, and I paid a ransome for it, and was told that it was VERY solid, so I paid what I did, paid another 1300 to get it shipped back, and I got a rusty hulk that needs a frame, although the preacher who I bought it from said it was solid, and very nice for the area....I guess we were on opposite ends of the "Rust" spectrum, and what he considered a little rust is what I call a RUST BUCKET....
whew.....ok, I am done with my little rant.....lol.

The Tuff adapters for 4X are a great example of a super rare part.
Seems like even the original wheels are no longer all that common.
Set for sale in NJ? for 80 bucks. If they were good shape and in
MY neighborhood, I wouldn't think twice. Original Wagons really
make a Macho. Seems like 100 to 200 for sets. What about original
GOODYEAR TRACKER AT tires. Also, seems like they are nearly
extinct, I know I would gladly pay 50 to 100 ea Depending on
condition. gotta be 10x15.

trackers are tricky to find.....I almost always looks at the auctions for spare tires to see what is there, bought several that way. I think I have a few sets of them, and they make the truck look vintage correct...
