Post subject: | Hi new to the boards |
I only recently learned what a macho power wagon is when I was looking for parts for a 78 that I traded for and found this site. Seems you all are a pretty knowledgeable and dedicated group. The one I got is pretty faded and had a blown aftermarket front hub but has a really good running 69 375hp 440 and a lot of options. Haven't decided what I'm going to do with it yet as I originally got it for a trail rig/mudder. May end up restoring it instead. ![]() ![]() ![]() Anyway looking forward to learning from all of you and maybe I have some knowledge you can use as well. |

I'm in Mesa Az. the truck I think was originally from CA. because it has a sticker from the " Bureau of automotive repair" that states the engine is a 69 Chrysler 440.For emissions I guess. As for options it has AC,full instrumentation, Non slip 9.25 and some kind of bucket seats with console that I guess are unique to machos if I have understood correctly. The transfer case has been converted to part time and it had some kind of cheesy aftermarket kit with ford ranger hubs. The kit as I tracked backwards appears to have been marketed by a company called 4x2 savings. http://www.mopartruckparts.com/tech/t009.html Of course they are long out of business so I grabbed a regular full time D-44 off CL and got it on the road. Its been parked for years over a failed hub. |

Please don't make the truck a mudder. It's your's, so you can do what you want, but it's just to rare and valuable to many people. Try to find an old chevy or another dodge to make a mudder. Nice truck, looks in good shape, and still has the original roll bar. Welcome to the forums. |

Have to get back to you on the VIN but the fenders and core support are not original. Both fenders have 200 badges so I can only assume they were replaced. There are a lot of anomalies with this truck which is one of the reasons I was first looking on this site. Truck is a 78 with a behind the seat tank which I also don't think is right but I haven't gotten around to verifying yet. |

Behind the seats tank was a factory option, so that is probably right. Some trucks have it, and some don't. Just look at the pictures on this site. The main tank under the bed was usually an 18 gallon, and the one behind the seats was a 20 gallon. |
