i guess my sending unit is bad, ive been trying to hook it up and get the gauge to move by moving the float and i got nothing. but my gauge still works cause when i hook it up it pegs full

dropped the tank but i cant get this aftermarket gauge to work its reads backwards lol when the float is up its empty when its down its full. id like to use this aftermarket gauge since i cant return it but idk why it reads backwards?
