Here's another one that has potential.

Looks like a hood/cowl/rad support swap would do the job on this one, but it is more money than I was hoping to spend. At least I would save on paint.

the hood is interchangeable, you just need to swap the wiper cowl as well. i just stumbled across a m880, likewise in michigan, but for $750. i can dig up the link if youd like.

Funny you should mention this RumbleFish as I had a 79 M880 long bed slip through my fingers at the last minute here! I still may be able to locate it in hopes he's ready to sell. If I get it, I too plan on making a Rick Simon clone! 8-)

I wonder how hard it would be to find this particular roll bar which was the one used on the 1980 clone for the show?

Considering how old the photo is, it may be tough finding the exact bar, but I would guess that something very similar should be available. It's interesting that all the shows i've seen seem to show lights on the factory roll bar of the '79 or '80, but no lights on this, the '81 clone. I've also seen padding on this one. It looked like they had pipe insulation held on with electrical tape in some episodes.
I know some things from that ers are tough to find. I have been looking for a big Warn winch like the one on the show, and haven't had any luck. Looks like the new line of winches are smaller.

Hey Rick! This looks like a very good candidate for your project! Link

Quote:
.060 over 360; seven inches of total lift with 3" body; 4" trail master suspention and shocks; newer 33" tires; Borgenson steering shaft; Warren lock outs; CD player; 4 core radiator; B & M floor shifter; newer hitch; brake controler; 2 1/2" aluminum pipe w/ 20 series flow master exhaust; and more. Not sure what it should be worth, it was nice, but has been sitting a while and is getting rough.

That is a nice one. It has an '81+ bed on it, but it's already lifted, and the ride height looks good. Just needs some fatter tires for the Rick Simon Look. I'd have to srtip the mouldings, and weld the holes shut. Not really a big deal. Indianola? Is that in Indiana? Wonder how much?
