Also should have the carpet in by the weekend so that should make the interior look much better. I'm also cleaning up the center console and repainting with SEM plactic paint. I did that with my orange prospector and it looked brand new. The rear tire racks going on the truck over the weekend as well. I need to get this thing detailed up for it first show in 3 weeks at the Atlantic Nationals.

I made my hit list of things I need to do (lol).
-front end alignment
-install carpet
-hook up kick down linkage(should have the adaptor Fri)
-need a nice drivers side se door panel in carmel color
-install rear tire rack
-install jerry cans
-mount full size spare
-apply decals on the rims
-finish buffing out center caps and install
-paint center console with SEM
-install new radio and new door speaker and hide the radio in center console
-detail engine bay
-new chrome strip around front window
-install nos grill
-fix the tweak in back bumper
-Paint new steering wheel and install
That's about it for now. I still plain on getting the small rust spot fixed and have some areas blended out below the body line. I also plan on getting the dent doctor to remove some dents out of it. He already looked at it and said it should be a cake walk on some of them. I have a hard time believing he can remove some of them but we'll see.

Alright so my jerry cans came in red as they didnt have white ones any where so do you guys think I should leave them red or paint them white like the one in the ad. I almost think the red would look pretty good on it.

Sounds like you have a little work ahead of you but nothing to drastic. Good to plan ahead like that though.

I would probably paint the cans white just because the adds are that way. You are so close on everything else. I was wondering if state law would have anything to say about it or not if you got pulled over.

I hope the wheel works out for you until the original is restored. I see you bought the Lecarra wheel. I dyed a Trans Am wheel once and it had held up pretty well. Not sure if black to brown would go very well though. Did you ever contact that company in Europe about the Moto wheels?

I did and they were really exspensive and I was a little uneasy about sending my wheel over there to restored. The Lecarra steering wheel company are really great to deal with and told me for $70.00 they would recover my original wheel. So I'll give them a try and see how it comes out.
I agree I'm not sure if I'll use the tanks for gas I'd be alittle nervious with them on the back like that. It would suck to have one come off while going down the road(lol). If a cop ever pulls me over I'll just say I use them for water. I think your right, probably should paint them white as that's what color they would of been.

$70 to recover your original sound like a good deal to me. Last year I contacted an upholstery shop locally about a leather wheel and they said around $200.

Are your top seals in good shape? That is my next hurdle to overcome. I figure some type of rubber matting or building product will be finding its way under my top. :D

PS: Any word on those repo roof racks?

Wow !! that's great.

On the Jerry Cans, do you mean Yellow?

And did also mean that Lecarre will restore your original Moto Lita?

His '78 Tophand is white so painting the jerry cans white would match the body color.
