This is #12 of 33 or so made. Very interesting trucks that have
had quite a few articles to their credit. I was lucky enough to
find mine in a grocery store parking lot and able to add to my
collection a short time later. These trucks got Stiffer springs
and shocks, wild graphics like the Rod Hall Race team used,
Special Ultra aluminum wheels with large BFGs, and all the
Smittybuilt yellow tubing and Rod Hall off road lights.
You also got a lower black paint treatment reminiscent of the machos.
Inside you got a serial #d dash plaque, Shelby steering wheel
with a Rod Hall Signature, And same on the floor matts. And
in case you forgot what you were driving, you had it across
the windshield in big letters again.
ROD HALL Signature Edition.

The 318 is no power house, but the truck drives great and is
amazing in the snow. Now it only goes out on NICE days!

I was just wondering how many of those were still around in this part of the country. I really need to drool over your collection one of these days. :D

Anytime Dude.
I think there's at least 2 others.
Well 3 if you count this 87 Recall truck

I think the Recall trucks are the real oddballs.
First, that they even exist is a bit of a mystery.
Chrysler went a little nuts getting these things back
after NHTSA put the screws to them over the suspension.
Chrysler issued a very strict "Containment Order".

In an Electronic Mail from Mother dated 02/17/87
Dealers were ordered to "Stop taking orders for the
"ROD HALL SIGNATURE EDITION TRUCK" immediately!

Further.. "Do not sell, deliver, or use inventory trucks.
Hold them until your zone office contacts you to arrange
their disposition."

And for trucks already retailed---
"Determine how many of these trucks have already been
sold and PROVIDE THE SALES DATA (Number sold, VIN, customer
name/address and delivery date to your zone service office as soon
as possible. Dealers should take NO ACTION on retailed vehicles
until instructed to do so by your zone office."

They were dead serious about getting them back and probably
followed this letter with a couple of black helicopters to insure
CONTAINMENT and Operation Clean Sweep!

It amazes me that these trucks exist in any form. And seems like
they vary in the amount of Special equipment installed and or
removed. The last one that popped up in Illinois was odd in that
the stripes did not have the ROD HALL cutouts in them, nor
did it have the engine compartment plaque, though there were
rivets where it should have been.

90s are RARE. RECALLS are bizarre.

The more I learn about the Rod Hall trucks, the more I like 'em. Your 90 is absolutely gorgeous. I'll try to catch you at the store in the near future, and figure out a time to see your collection.

I would enjoy putting together an article on
one of my favorite subjects. Rod Hall Trucks!
It's a broad topic and should include the 79
Rod Halls known as the THE FORCE TRUCKs.
