Post subject:  ORIGINAL un-filled MOPAR Blue top battery circa 78-81 value?
I recently bought a new (N.O.S.) unfilled MOPAR battery in the 27-group style for the trucks. It is a 500amp hour blue top like the originals used in the truck as delivered from the factory. It is in the box with the entire paperwork etc. Does anyone know what this may be worth? I believe that if it was filled and charged it would be like new. I have never seen an original blue top for sale before. This one in NOS and an amazing find. Bought from spring fling 2014 at Van Nuys this April. Any thoughts are helpful.

Here are a few pictures of the battery. Seems like a cool find. Great for a 100% restoration or maybe a mold for reproduction GMT battery?

Based on the date tag (remove the dots etc.) I assume that this was not a factory-installed battery, rather one that sat on a dealer’s shelf unused. Based on the dates on the enclosed paperwork this is most likely a 78-81 battery and if the mold numbers on the battery bottom are an indicator it may be late as 1984. Still cool none-the-less.
