Does anyone have any idea what rhyme or reason when the '70s Dodge pickups 2WDs had a sideloader 4speed transmission? I have seen two trucks now, one a '76 warlock 2wd with the sideloader, can't remember the other truck year. Were they the OD case or the regular A833? I always thought the 70s trucks had the NP435, and the sideloader wasn't in the 2wd truck until early 80s, with the OD case. Thanks for the help!

i just saw one yesterday in a junkyard, it was a 79-80 i think (it was pretty picked over), and it had the 833 trans behind a slant six. not sure if it was an OD or not.

there is a 77 warlock on my local craigslist with a 318 4spd. i emailed him and he said it is not the granny gear trans.
