I'm looking at buying a 1977 m880 dodge pickup from a site called alfaheaven.com and I need help. I know that it is a full time 4x4 truck, and I was wondering if they sell conversion kits for these trucks to make them part time 4x4's. Please respond with the pros and cons of converting it. Will doing this improve the fuel economy and how fast the truck cruises? It states that it does 70mph comfortably, and I want to know if it will go faster if I convert it.

your best bet is to get a dana 44 axle with lock outs on it, and then buy the part time kit for the transfer case. The weak link is the wheel bearings on the full-time dodge front ends...
