would definitely say that the flares were some type of custom molded in job. i would think that there is a bunch of filler in the to make it look like that. Looks pretty good for the age tho, by looking at the pics. As far as the motor, is the distributor up front or at the back? If it's in front it's a big block(400, 413, 440, etc). If it's in the rear it's a small block(318,360,etc.). If you get a mirror and look behing the driver side exhaust manifold you should be able to find the size cast into the block. It will clearly state what it is-ex.-318, 360.

No front shots, it has a ramcharger or dodge truck grill in it. I did find out from another guy that it was a 318 car originally. It has a healthy 360 now which is quite an upgrade from an 318. I dont have all the stuff to decode the trucks but I am no newbie to the wonderful Mopar. Sometime soon I will be piecing back together my 71 Challenger in its original Butterscotch/white/white with white non R/T stripes. Just for giggles here are a couple of shots of it as it sits now.

Hey radar! It's good to see that Challenger over here. Looks like you're making more progress than I am on the Sport Satellite. Aren't you glad you went butterscotch?

I dont know, your car looks awesome! Yeah I am glad I stuck with the original color. I get more pleased every time I see more color. The only thing I am wondering about is how its going to look with the white top and stripe. Black is such a better color to contrast with Butterscotch but I wanted the original scheme. Next time he shoots I will be grinning ear to ear because it will be final paint :D
Thanks for the kind comments
